Cutest Lil' Pumpkin

Avery enjoyed her first visit to the pumpkin patch at the Fall City Farms.

Where's Avery?

My Aunt Susan gave Avery these cute little polka dot pajamas around the same time we purchased a new bedsheet for her. We had quite a laugh the first time we put Avery to bed in them!

Avery's New School

Avery has so much fun at school each day. She has eight friends to play with and a world of new toys and experiences. She comes home every day just pooped!

Visit from Aunt Janis and Uncle Jim

We had a very fun time when Aunt Janis and Uncle Jim came to Seattle to meet Avery. We toured several of the Woodinville wineries, including Chateau St. Michelle and Janiuk...
...and even made time for a baby massage!Avery was so funny - she looked very relaxed.

Thanks for visiting Aunt Janis and Uncle Jim!

Mount Vernon & Alexandria

We took a day trip across the Potomac to visit the city of Alexandria and the home of George Washington in Mt. Vernon. Alexandria was a fun and historic city - too bad it rained and we forgot our umbrellas!

George and Martha Washington's home seemed so small from our first vantage point across the lawn, yet it was surprisingly big once inside. There were so many rooms - each preserved exactly as the Washington's had left them. I didn't expect the tour to be so interesting or the property to be so beautiful. Unfortunately, photos are prohibited inside the home.
We walked down to the wharf ...
...and through all the small outer buildings on the property (such as the kitchen, the stables, and the office).

We went to Mt. Vernon on a whim because we had never been there and had seen most of the sights in D.C. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed being there and was amazed that we spent the good part of the day walking the property (I thought we'd be in and out in an hour, tops!). I'm sure we'll go back when Avery is old enough to appreciate it.
