Bringing Avery Home - Week 1

Last Friday we checked out of the hospital and brought Avery home. Here she is modeling her stylish outfit from her Nana. The hat didn't stay on for very long.

We're here!

Our first outing was to the University Village. Avery is still a bit unsure about her car seat (until she falls fast asleep in it).

She likes sitting with Dad on the couch while he emails his friends.
Our second excursion was to the Madison Park Starbucks.
Avery likes to lay on her play mat and listen to the music. Thanks Samar!
We had many visitors our first week home. Melissa and Lucy came by to see the baby...
...so did Karissa...
Matt and Joanna had some time with Avery...
...and so did the Myers (too bad Lucy was asleep the entire time)...

...and of course, both sets of grandparents came by (many times)!

Avery has the most adorable little feet.
Our first visit to see Dr. Sheridan.

We had many visitors during our stay in the hospital.

Melissa's Baby Shower

The Kappa girls got together at Karissa's house to celebrate Melissa (center - blue shirt), who is expecting a little boy in late June. It was a fun afternoon!

Samar brought Clive, so I had to get in plenty of time to hold him - he is very cute little man!

Welcome Clive!

Our good friends Samar and Thom welcomed their second baby boy, Clive, and Aaron and I went to the hospital to meet him. He is so sweet and Samar just looked terrific the day after Clive was born!
We were able to practice the baby handoff that we had done so many times with "Lamby" - our baby's little stuffed animal lamb. It certainly was more difficult with a real baby! Congratulations Samar and Thom!

Cannon Beach April 4th and 5th

As part of my birthday present (and our last getaway before baby), Aaron took me to Cannon Beach, Oregon for the weekend. We stayed at the Ocean Lodge, which is a great little resort right on the beach, and had a wonderful and relaxing weekend! The view of the beach and Haystack Rock from the balcony of our room.
The baby bump at 34 weeks.

The weather was georgous and there was the most amazing sunset on Saturday night. Of course, pictures never do it justice!
